Mr. David Elliot has been a consultant hand and plastic surgeon for 23 years. In 1989, he established the Hand Surgery Department at St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery, which is now based in Broomfield Hospital,and served as the senior hand surgeon until December 31, 2019. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedics in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and continues to perform regular surgeries in the Spanish Health Service.
Mr. David Elliot's current practice is a testament to his diverse expertise. He specializes in all aspects of hand trauma surgery, finger reconstructive techniques, flexor and extensor tendon surgery, Dupuytren's disease, surgery for rheumatoid hand deformities, osteoarthritic joint surgery, and the surgical treatment of peripheral nerve pain and skin cancers.
He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Open Scholar in Medicine of Oxford University, the Kay-Kilner Prize, the Pulvertaft Prize, and the British Burns Association Prize. He has also held a UK NHS Gold Merit Award and was a Foundation Speaker for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Currently, he holds the Pioneer of Hand Surgery Award from IFSSH and has been honored with the Godrej Oration by APSI and the Venkataswami Oration by ISSH.
His contributions to hand surgery are invaluable, having successfully treated several thousand patients through his dedicated work.
