Dr. Taraka Perera is a very senior medical officer at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, where he has been serving since 2018. In addition to plastic surgery, he has extensive experience in general medicine, otolaryngology, obstetrics, and gynecology.
Dr. Perera graduated with honors from the University of Colombo in 2007.
Alongside his expertise in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Perera has a keen interest in problem-solving, adaptability, rapid learning, teamwork, and leadership. He is proficient in computer programming, including Visual Basic, generative AI, and computer graphics design. His notable achievements include contributing to the creation of the National Poisons Information Database Computer Program and Website for the Sri Lanka National Poison Information Centre in 2006.
